Now it could be easy and they’ll cut you off quick. Just don’t get invested, or let your hand grab a grip. Or it could be hard and you’ll fall in too deep. Waste all your time inside each others minds and end up down just like me.
I’m thinking about how my days have changed. My face is different but my friends stayed the same. Looking back, was it worth the risk? You bet your damn fucking life it is. I remember talking ‘til I’d fall asleep. Now you don’t even hold a thought of me. I see a new side of myself. A new half, a new me that I’m not so sure I want to be.
For weeks I kept quiet while it tore out my gut. And when I told you I got a lesson in keeping my mouth shut. (In keeping my mouth shut.)
